Common fraud patterns

  • Impersonation of Peregrine partners using look-alike email domains.
  • “Urgent” requests to wire funds to new bank accounts.
  • Fake data rooms / portals requesting credentials.
  • Unsolicited offers claiming guaranteed returns.

How to verify

  • Verify sender domains and confirm requests via a known phone number.
  • Use dual-control approval for any banking detail changes.
  • Request written confirmation and counter-signature for capital calls.
  • Never share passwords or MFA codes.
